We conduct all of our flight reviews in accordance with 14 CFR § 61.56 which requires:

- 1 hour minimum of flight instruction
- A review of the general operating rules of part 91
- Maneuver review that is up to the discretion of the CFI
Instrument Proficiency Check
Has your instrument currency lapsed? Are you looking to build your confidence shooting approaches? We can help create a tailor made plan for you to help you gain proficiency and confidence when flying IFR.
First question – when do you need an IPC? To remain instrument current you are required to perform and log these requirements within 6 months:
- Six instrument approaches.
- Holding procedures and tasks.
- Intercepting and tracking courses through the use of navigational electronic systems.
If you’re not current – now what? You have an additional 6 months to meet the requirements to remain current before you have to have an IPC. You cannot act as PIC during IFR conditions, but you can still regain your currency without an IPC during the additional 6 month grace period.
Your additional 6 month grace period has lapsed, its now time for an IPC given by a CFII. You will be required to demonstrate:
- Nonprecision Approach
- Precision Approach
- Missed Approach
- Circling Approach
- Partial Panel Approach
- Recovery From Unusual Attitudes
- Intercepting and Tracking
Once you have completed your IPC you will be allowed to act as PIC during IFR conditions and have 6 months to complete your currency requirements!
